Music Ministry

The music ministry at St. Timothy Church provides musical support for all liturgical functions to aid in fostering full and active participation by the assembly. Our goals are to elevate the worship of the faithful through music as outlined in church documents such as “Sing to the Lord, General Instructions on the Roman Missal” and “Sacrosanctum Concilium.”

All members of the parish community that have a desire to serve the Lord and their community through song are welcome to participate.

Contemporary Adult Choir

All adults in the parish are invited and encouraged to join the choir! In addition to the service music sung during Sunday Mass, the choir sings a variety of contemporary music. You and your voice are welcomed regardless of your level of experience or ability to read music!

Rehearsals and Mass Schedule: Rehearsals are Thursday evening, 7:30-9:00pm, September through Mid-June & Sunday mornings, 45 minutes prior to Mass, all year long. Both the 9:00 and 11:00 choirs rehearse together, singing at the 9:00 and 11:00 Sunday Masses each week. During the summer months there will only be a choir at one Sunday Mass. The cantor / choir will alternate between Masses.

Traditional Adult Choir

All adults in the parish are invited and encouraged to join the choir! In addition to the service music sung during the Saturday evening Mass, the choir sings a variety of music, both contemporary and traditional. You and your voice are welcomed regardless of your level of experience or ability to read music!

Rehearsals and Mass Schedule: Rehearsals are Saturday afternoon before the 5pm Mass. The choir sings at the 5pm Mass each week, September through May.

Please contact the Music Ministry Leader, Amanda Schrider sainttimsmusic@gmail.com  if you are interested in contributing to the music ministry at the Saturday evening Mass.

Cantor

The cantor is the visible leader of sung prayer. Central to this ministry is singing the psalm and facilitating the assembly in singing joyfully together.

Mass Schedule: New cantors will first train with our music director, and subsequently be scheduled at the 5pm Mass from June through August. Frequency of participation at weekend liturgy is at the cantor’s preference.
