CHILDRENS’ FAITH FORMATION

 

Dir. of Christian Formation and Sacramental Prep:  Yvette Leith, 301-845-8025,  directorcf@stimothys.org

Catechist/teacher:  Classes for grades 1-6 meet Mondays 6:45-8PM, Sept. thru April, also a summer program.

Substitute Catechist/teacherConfirmed high school students are welcome serve in some grades.

Aides:  Aides assist catechists in the Christian Formation classes.

Rite of Christian Initiation Adapted for Children:  For young people who have never been baptized or missed going through religious education. Monday nights.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word:  Present the Word, at mass, to children age 5 and older -- 5pm, 9:45am, 11:30am.

Christian Formation Committee: Assist in helping to plan and coordinate the religious education programs.

Timmy’s Tots: Help with our program for 3 and 4 year-olds at the 9:45am mass.

Nursery: Help with our nursery for children 0-5 years old at the 9:45am mass.

Sacramental Preparation for BaptismAssist new parents to prepare for the baptism of their children.

Visiting Pilgrim Statue Program - Dom or Rita Macera, 301- 845-0328, macera16@adelphia.net St. Timothy's had the privilege of acquiring a statue of Our Lady of Fatima that has been blessed by John Paul II.  A committee member would come into your home to set up the statue, give you prayer materials to use while the statue is in your home..

SOCIAL JUSTICE AND SOCIAL AWARENESS AND SERVICE

Cooks for Parish Families in Crisis/Funeral Ministry – Sue Hess, 301-845-4625; Mary Ellen Hoffman, 301-845-2611; Marie Hawkins, 301-845-6554.  Plans luncheons for families after funeral masses.

Good Samaritans – Cathy Gross, cathy.gross@cambrex.com, 301-845-4808.  Volunteers to take shut-ins to church, doctor;  to do snow removal, yard work, grocery shopping, phone calls to the homebound, pet sitting, errands, child care, companionship for sick spouses to relieve caregivers, meals for new mothers, the sick, etc.

Haiti Action Committee – Una Barbagallo, 301 898-4465.  Parishioners raise awareness of the needs of our sister parish in Haiti, raise financial assistance for the needs of that community, and sponsor trips to and from Haiti.  Currently we are planning a Haiti Medical Trip consisting of volunteer Doctors, Nurses and Dentists.
